Over six months of filming captured the lives of the soldiers who manned the most remote outpost in World War II, the Aleutian Islands in the North Pacific. This spectacular production, directed by John Huston, captures the bombings of this area as well as the loneliness of the troops. Nominated for the Academy Award for the best documentary short subject of 1943.
