Silent Service: The Story of Submarine Warfare in the Pacific DVD

(Pacific Ocean, 1941-45) The US Navy waged unrestricted submarine warfare against Japan after December 7th, 1941. Defective engineering design rendered the Navy's submarine torpedos useless. It was not until 1944 that the defects were remedied and the new electric torpedo came into use...whereupon Japanese ships were sunk by the dozens.

USA, 1946, Color, 37 minutes.
