This is Eisenstein's strikingly original film debut. Juxtaposing violent, lyrical, and grotesque images, he shows a factory strike in Czarist Russia from beginning to bloody end. This film marks the beginning of classic Soviet silent cinema. Directed by Sergei Eisenstein, assisted by Grigori Alexandrov; featuring Grigori Alexandrov, Maxim Strauch, and Mikhail Gomarov.
