The Star Of Africa
(Der Stern Von Afrika)
Witness the dashing exploits of Hans-Joachim Marseille - known as the Star of Africa and the Eagle of the Desert. Though this brazen and uncompromising son of a wealthy family repeatedly ran into conflict with the German "Iron Code" of discipline, he gained glory as an attack-loving "Flying Devil"! His ability to turn inside an opponent and his mastery of deflection shooting made him a Luftwaffe Ace with 158 confirmed kills, 17 in one day. Marseille won the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds as well as the Italian Gold Medal for Bravery, which was awarded to only three men in WWII. Starring Joachim Hansen and Marianne Koch, directed by Alfred Weidenmann.
