8 German Newsreels with English Subtitles Aug. 31, 1941-Nov. 20, 1941

In this outstanding collection of weekly wartime newsreels, we witness volunteer legions from Occupied France, Flanders, and Denmark joining the Nazi crusade against Bolshevism in the invaded USSR, the Red Army routed from the Baltic States, Nazi tanks reaching the Black Sea port of Nikolaev; during the battle of Gomel, 90,000 Soviet prisoners are taken, and heavy combat takes place along the Leningrad-Moscow railroad.

We also see Novgorod taken by the German Army, U-boats are launched to wage the Battle of the Atlantic, the siege of Leningrad begins, Mussolini and Hitler visit the Eastern Front, and the elite Waffen/Armed SS takes Kherson.

The Finnish Army takes Viipuri (Viborg), Guderian and Kleist encircle four Soviet armies with their panzer/armored forces, fighting rages in both Kremenchug and Chernigov, and the German Army battles its way in the Ukrainian city of Kiev.

We also witness the Islands of Isel (Saaremaa) and Moon (Muhu) on the Gulf of Riga taken, plus the fall of Kiev and---with it---the surrender of 665,000 POWs in four surrounded armies. There are endless lines of Soviet POWs amidst the shelling of besieged Leningrad, Finnish troops moving on Lakes Ladoga and Onega, and the Kharkov attack.
