This film captures the joy and political triumph on the Lithuanian-American community at the long awaited arrival of Lithuanian sailor, Simas Kudirka, who was finally allowed to leave the Soviet Union after a four year imprisonment for his dramatic but unsuccessful attempt to jump ship and seek political asylum from the US in 1970. Mass demonstrations and speeches protesting forced return to the Soviet Union of defector Simas Kudirka in 1970 are also shown.
