Tushino Air Shows 1935/55 DVD
Product Description
Two restored Tushino Air Show films showing the Soviet Tushino Aviation Days outside Moscow in 1935 and 1955: Aviation Day Moscow August 18 and Wings of the Motherland 1955.
Established in 1933, they were held on the third Sunday of August, sometimes attended by a million onlookers. In many years, newly developed aircraft were shown for the very first time.
Both show a thrilling aerial display of civilian and military aerobatics, stunts, and formations of balloons, fixed-wing and jet airplanes, monoplanes, biplanes, fighters, bombers, helicopters (in ’55), and a paratrooper drop. The air shows provide an excellent overview of Soviet air forces.
