The second, Taboo: The Beginning of Erotic Cinema, traces 50 years of adult films, contrasting explicit French productions with the tamer but polished U.S. films influenced by the 1930 production code. In Europe, explicit scenes appeared early; in the U.S., striptease films emphasized bare breasts but little more. By the late 1940s–50s, fan dances gave way to bondage and staged fights, often revealing less skin. A narrator weaves film clips with rich social history.
