Through Enemy Eyes: A Newsreel History Of The Third Reich At War, Volume 11 DVD Review by Blaine Taylor
Volume 11 Eleven Newsreels with English Subtitles, June 23, 1943-Oct. 20, 1943

In this selection, the viewer witnesses a Nazi home front orchestra concert in an arms factory, SS anti-tank units in action, Italian Navy Day in Rome, fighting around Leningrad and on the Kuban Front, plus Dr. Gobbels opening the annual Munich Art Show, bomb damage on German cities, fighting Red Partisans in the USSR, and infantry resting on the Russian Front.

In addition, there are scenes of bombed Cologne Cathedral in ruins, German Armor Inspector Heinz Guderian visiting a tank drivers’ school, Murmansk Front combat action, and Russian military volunteers fighting on the Nazi side.

These is also shown a Ukrainian mass grave, the Battle of Orel-Kursk---the greatest tank battle in history to date---Luftwaffe bombings of Red staging areas, Belgorod Sector battles, and Hitler with his generals at Fuhrer Headquarters Wolfsschanze/Wolf’s Lair, plus captured Soviet troops and artillery, night fighters attacking British bombers, Rommel and tanks at Greek Salonika, Sicilian battlefield combat, and German troops evacuating Orel in the USSR.

Finally, we witness Hitler Youth summer games, convoy actions, and much more!
